Quote currency

AKA counter currency

Currency unit prices are quoted as currency pairs. The quote currency - also called the counter currency - is the second currency appearing in a currency pair quotation, preceded by the base part of the quotation, called the base currency or the transaction currency.

In a currency pair BTC/ETH, BTC is the base currency and ETH is the quote currency.
